ABOUT ME..

My name is Michel Kooijmans, I'm an illustrator from Holland, not that it affects the work I make, it's just the country I happened to have been born in and still live in.

My work is about making the everyday life just a tad more beautiful. I love life and this world, but it can always be better, more beautiful.

I make my art as I would like the world to look and feel. I'll hold a mirror to the world and hope someone will look into it and feel better about it or themselves.

The work I make also deals with people quite often and even more often about female people. I just happen to be fascinated by them. Their beauty, their intelligence, their finesse. I've made a book in their honor, ''Ode aan de vrouw'', an ode to women.
